2022 enjoyed very favorable conditions, allowing the grapes to ripen well.
The year started with a very cool spring, then temperatures rose gradually, particularly beneficial for creating slow ripening conditions, high aromatic intensity, a high level of concentration and great phenolic ripeness.
This vintage has great potential and perfectly expresses both the Chilean terroir and grape varieties. It boasts good typical aromas, a delicate and elegant mouthfeel with a high level of concentration, alongside great acidity and freshness.
The 2022 vintage has great balance between structure and elegance on the palate, giving complex, fresh wines with good ageing potential.
80% of the wine is matured in French oak barrels, 30% new barrels and 70% 1-to-2-year old barrels, for ten months before bottling.
This wine is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%. Carmenere gives rich and slightly tannic wines with red fruit and liquorice flavours. Smooth and creamy, Carmenere wines soon reach their peak.
Fresh and powerful - Black fruits - Pepper
Intense violet with a purple hue.
The nose is very fruit-forward, with aromas of black fruit such as plum, blueberry and blackberry that mingle with spice notes (soy sauce, bay leaf) and touches of vanilla, coffee and cherry tart from time spent in French oak barrels.
The generous attack displays good volume and substance with fresh and balanced acidity. On the palate, well-rounded, silky tannins support red fruit flavors of plum and cherry.
