2023 VINTAGE
The 2023 vintage presented very favourable conditions for good ripeness of the grapes.
It is a vintage that started with a warm spring, but then the temperature rose slowly, which was very beneficial to generate a slow ripening, offering high aromatic intensity, high level of concentration and good phenolic maturity.
This vintage of great potential achieves a perfect expression of the Chilean terroir, the identity of the varieties with good typicity in its aromas, with a fine and elegant palate, with a high level concentration, and with very good acidity and freshness.
2023, a vintage with great balance between structure and elegance, delivers complex and fresh wines with good ageing potential.

MATURING
80% of the wine is matured in French oak barrels, 10% new barrels and 90% 1-to-2-year old barrels, for ten months before bottling.
GRAPE VARIETY
Escudo Rojo Reserva Syrah is made entirely from the same grape variety even though the requirement under Chilean law is only 75%. Producing very high-quality wines, Syrah brings remarkable depth of flavour and rich tannins which improve with age.
TASTING NOTES
Fresh and elegant - Black cherry - Spices
Aspect
A bright, intense ruby-red colour with purple rim.
Nose
Very intense with notes of liquorice, blueberry, blackberry and small fruit such as black cherry, as well as spicy aromas of white pepper, mingled with graphite and smooth nuances of tobacco and toffee imparted by barrel ageing.
Palate
Rich and generous on the palate with good volume. Liquorice aromas and spicy nuances follow through to the long, lingering finish.
